The Magic of Christmas
Christmas… magic… smell of pine needles… mulled wine… tree and decoration… presents… I can continue this list of heart-warming words forever. This is the most anticipated time of the year for me and our family. Shops bustling with people, glittered wrapping paper, sparkling champagne, Christmas lights and the blue shine of ice rinks… these all make us become a little happier, a little kinder and believe that magical things can happen, even if it’s only for a while. I like to take my time to search for presents for my friends and family. I always have a picture in my head of that moment when they are unwrapping the paper and I see that spark in their eyes… the spark of cheer and joy mixing with the twinkling from the Christmas lights adorning the trees…
When I was a little girl, I wondered… are there any beautiful and dreamy places which can envelop you in a magical fairytale? Are there REAL places that are full of wonder and magic? The answer, I learned, was YES! This fairytale happens each year in Prague! Christmas markets, the smell of trdelnik (rolled dough that is wrapped around a stick, then grilled and topped with sugar and walnut mix), hot wine, beautiful old buildings lining the Old Town Square and of course, the famous Charles Bridge. It all made my heart melt. I hope you share these thoughts as I attempt to transfer you to the unforgettable Czech Republic through my pictures.
I hope you enjoy your Christmas preparations and can share in the magic of the season with the ones you love.
